Run Disney Tinkerbell Marathon 2017

This past Mother’s Day weekend I was able to participate in a RunDisney event for the first time! It was on my bucket list to do but after experiencing it I can now say it has become a hobby! I had the best time and it was a perfect way to spend Mother’s Day.

I signed up my 9 year old daughter along with myself to run the Neverland 5k. I figured that would be the less strenuous race for us since we are beginners. The race starts at 5am but you have to arrive at the park by 4am. My poor daughter caught the stomach flu and couldn’t run so I went alone. She was really bummed but I told her to rest up so she could go to California Adventure Park later that day.

I was in for a treat! I LOVED how everyone (thousands) showed up in full costume including those young and old. The nerd in me was geeking out and the competitor in me said I need to step my costume game up! Seeing the Magic Castle in the early morning was such an amazing experience and running thru the parks was breathtaking! I loved the motivation families had to cheer their little ones on as they ran thru the race. Even having the bystanders cheer you on as you pass by was motivating!

I was able to finish the race in 45 minutes (which I felt great about but also sad because it was over) and earned my first RunDisney medal. Let me tell you I am now hooked! I’ve already started planning our next race which will be the Star Wars Marathon in January 2018!! That gives me 8 months to perfect our costumes!!!

All in all, it was the best weekend and I got to spend it with my sister and nephew too! Happy Mother’s Day to all you hard working, passionate moms out there!!

California’s Great America

Summertime is here and we’re ready to Parrttaayy!! Our family decided to do a Season Pass this year and we are taking full advantage of it!

We are planning weekly visits this summer so the kids (and us parents) can enjoy the rides, water parks and gaming zone. We purchased Souvenir cups so we can enjoy drinks all season at $1 a pop! I’m so glad we did it especially now that Olivia is older and can enjoy it more.

My goal is to make sure my kids have wonderful childhood memories just like I did! I think we’re headed in the right direction!

Here’s some fun photos!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Our second “Farewell to Florida” trip was spent at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! We’re counting down the weeks to our move back to CA and wanted to make sure we visited all the Amusement Parks before we left.
Sunday was Mother’s Day and Disney is no exception in making sure Moms are celebrated. I was given a beautiful flower upon entering the park and greeted by a sweet cast member who wished me a great day.
We initially planned to visit Epcot but we felt Hollywood Studios had more attractions for the kids. We were right! Our first stop was the menacing Hollywood Tower Hotel. I asked the hubby and boys to try it out first before having our 5 year old on the ride. They came back saying it wasn’t that scary, what a big fib! LOL! Poor Olivia was NOT happy about that ride!
After a break with Dad & ice cream to calm her tummy, Olivia was ready to face the rest of the rides! Hubby & I took turns taking the boys on Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster then The Great Movie Ride but the best part was Star Tours which we rode about 4 times! Olivia loved that one!!
Pixar Studios was a perfect place to see Woody and Buzz & Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular had fun explosions with awesome movie stunts.
While the boys headed to The Tower one last time, Olivia and I caught the Beauty and the Beast -Live on Stage show. It was worth the wait in the heat!
Time flew by and after 9 hours at the park we were ready to head home. After a stop at Best Friends Pet Care to pick up Penelope from doggy day care we headed home and planned our final adventure! I think next stop is Magic Kingdom again !

DisneyWorld // Magic Kingdom 2013

As the days dwindle down to our move back to California, we decide to treat the kids to a few days at DisneyWorld. We picked up the Florida resident 3 day Disney Pass. Our first stop was to Magic Kingdom to experience the new attractions at Fantasyland.
We spent ALL day at the park and before heading home we caught the Main Street Electrical Parade. It brought back many wonderful memories of my own childhood, especially seeing Pete’s Dragon (who remembers that?).
The highlight to this trip was Enchanted Tales with Belle. Here you get to participate in acting out a story with Belle. Daddy was chosen to be one of her Master of Arms and our little Olivia was picked to play The Beast! It was beautiful to see Olivia light up when she got to dance with Belle. I was so proud of Daddy too, he did a great job acting in front of the crowd.
Devon & Gerald enjoyed Tomorrowland where they rode Space Mountain 3 times and drove cars on the Raceway twice.
Our next adventure will be to Epcot. Can’t wait to see what awaits us there.

Debut of Disney’s New Fantasyland 2012

Today marks the Grand Opening of Disneyworld’s New Fantasyland in Orlando, Fl. The newest expansion showcases character meet and greet, restaurants and attractions. I’m looking forward to seeing Be Our Guest Restaurant, Enchanted Tales with Belle, Gaston’s Tavern, Dumbo The Flying Elephant, Under The Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid.
Fantasyland was always my Happiest Place on Earth as a little girl and I know it will be my daughter’s favorite with much more to explore.
We plan to visit the park once the holiday season is finished but until then we’ll enjoy the many reviews other families are sharing on their blogs!

Universal Studio Orlando

What an amazing time we had on our family vacation day! We celebrated Gerald turning 14 and myself turning “30′ again! The boys enjoyed the many scary roller coasters, as well as, the water rides. I’ve never gotten so drenched before in my life! LOL! Olivia was a brave sport and went on The Amazing SpiderMan Adventure and The Jurassic Park water ride! It was wonderful spending time together and not having to compete with any XBoxes or IPads!! Now to plan one last day trip before Back to School in 2 weeks!

Enjoy!
